Terms of Service

Last updated: May 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the software and subscription services operated under the legal and trading name SummarizeMe (collectively, the "Service"). SummarizeMe is the Supplier of the Service. In these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to SummarizeMe. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptable use and fair use policy (FUP)

Even on paid plans described as "unlimited," use of the service is subject to a fair use policy meant to prevent automated abuse. We reserve the right to throttle bandwidth, temporarily suspend, or terminate accounts that show bot-like behavior or exceed use that is reasonable for a single human end user.

2. User content and copyright

You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to access and process the text, URLs, and other content you submit. The service is a tool that acts as a conduit and processor only. You are solely responsible for any copyright infringement or other legal claims arising from processing or sharing paywalled, restricted, or copyrighted material without permission.

3. Third-party API processing and privacy

To provide summarization, audio, and related features, text and related inputs you submit may be processed by third-party providers (for example, model and voice API partners). By using the service, you consent to this transient transfer solely for the purpose of fulfilling your request. We exclusively utilize developer API endpoints that guarantee zero data retention for model training. Your submitted content is never used to train our AI models or the models of our third-party partners. Please review each provider's terms and privacy policy for full detail.

4. Educational use and accuracy

The service uses artificial intelligence and may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading output. The service is provided as an educational aid and personal productivity tool, not as professional, medical, or legal advice. You are responsible for checking important facts against the original source material.

5. Payments, refunds, and cancellation

Paid transactions for the Service are processed by an authorized payment provider acting as merchant of record. That provider resells SummarizeMe products to you and handles tax, payment collection, invoicing where applicable, and refund administration in line with the checkout terms and our Terms of Sale & Refund Policy—not a separate SummarizeMe refund policy layered on top. By completing a transaction you agree to the buyer and refund terms presented at checkout, which include when you may withdraw or receive a refund, including country-specific statutory windows (for example, consumers in the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom may have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 calendar days of completing a transaction). If you exercise this right, you will generally receive a full refund of the relevant charges you paid, unless during that 14-day period you started downloading, streaming, using, or benefiting from the product when, during your transaction, you agreed for immediate access before the end of that 14-day period. The payment provider may additionally consider discretionary refund requests submitted within 14 calendar days as described at checkout. Submit refund and subscription management requests via the buyer support links in your receipt. Where mandatory consumer law gives you stronger rights than the checkout terms, those rights apply.

You may cancel recurring billing through the billing portal linked from your receipt; cancellation typically takes effect at the end of your current paid period unless the payment provider or applicable law specifies otherwise. For product or access issues after purchase, contact support@summarizeme.co first. We encourage you to contact the payment provider or us before disputing charges with your bank; disputes may temporarily affect access per the provider's policies.
